Barbara Horwitz

Barbara Horwitz is an experienced bankruptcy attorney helping people get past financial difficulties. She has been practicing bankruptcy for twenty-three years in the Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern District of Ohio in Dayton and Cincinnati.  She believes in creating a relationship with clients and is dedicated to making the bankruptcy process easy and stress-free for clients.

Barbara earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and a Legal Assisting Certificate from the University of Cincinnati. She received a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she served on Law Review for two years. Two of her law review articles were selected for publication in the University of Cincinnati Law Review: “The Extinction of the Peremptory Challenge: What Will the Jury System Lose by Its Demise?” and “The Duty of Schools to Protect Students From Sexual Harassment: How Much Recovery Will the Law Allow?”.

Barbara was an associate attorney in the Offices of Myron A. Wolf for thirteen years. During that period, she practiced in the areas of bankruptcy, personal injury, insurance defense, wills, probate, civil disputes, family law, and general litigation.  Prior to attending law school, Barbara was a legal assistant in the law offices of Michael J. Sage, Esq., and served as his Bailiff during the first year he presided as a Common Pleas Judge in Butler County, Ohio.

Barbara has much experience litigating civil cases in the Common Pleas Courts of Butler, Hamilton, Montgomery, and Warren Counties in Ohio.

Barbara has practiced extensively before the Court of Appeals for the Twelfth District of Ohio, where her arguments have generally resulted in the Court ruling in her client’s favor.
